FYI Summary
Here’s what matters
- A recall almost always covers specific lots, not a whole brand. Match the lot code and best-by date on your package.
- If it matches, stop feeding it. Keep the package, or a photo of the codes, until the refund is sorted out.
- For Salmonella or Listeria recalls, wash bowls, scoops and your hands. People can get sick from handling the food.
- Call your vet if your pet ate it and shows any of the signs listed in the notice.
- The FDA notice is the official word. We summarize it and link to it; we don’t replace it.

Call your vet and tell them which product and lot your pet ate, and any signs you’ve seen. Each notice lists the signs to watch for, such as vomiting, diarrhea or low energy.
Where does this list come from?
From the FDA’s list of animal and veterinary recalls and the company announcements the FDA posts. We summarize each notice and link to it. If anything here differs from the FDA notice, the notice is correct.
How do I report a pet food problem?
Use the FDA Safety Reporting Portal (safetyreporting.fda.gov). Keep the package: the FDA asks for the product name, lot number, best-by date, UPC, where and when you bought it, and your vet’s records if your pet got sick.
